Parent Activities

At Westlands we offer a range of opportunities for parents to become involved in their children's learning.  We hold parent workshops where you can visit your child's class to take part in an aspect of their learning with them.  This normally involves seeing how they learn a new skill and then participating too!  We welcome parents to come and watch their child's class assembly along with the other assemblies, such as Harvest, Christmas.  In the summer term, parents are invited to sports mornings to come and cheer their children on, as well as a 'Showcase' hosted by the children to explain and demonstrate their learning and show their excellent oracy skills and expert voices.

Throughout the year, each year group will go on different trips to accompany their learning in the classroom and parents may be asked to volunteer and support with these.  We also have an active Parent Teacher Association, where parents can participate in organising and running different events for the school, such as after school discos and the wonderful summer fete.
