(Special Educational Needs)

Children who need extra help with the curriculum will be supported by Mrs. Huntley our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, and a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSA). All junior classes have a classroom LSA every morning. Intervention groups are also run by Class Teachers and Learning Support Assistants. These usually take place during an assembly time and are designed to give children additional support to enable them to work at age related expectations.

As children reach Year 3 the school will look to provide a number of workshops for children who are identified as Gifted & Talented or highly able children during each term. These are run by the Deputy Head Teacher (Gifted & Talented Co-ordinator) and often with the support of a governor. Additional workshops are run through an external agent and local secondary schools. Children are also entered for competitions and quizzes.
